China Trip Day 1: Hangzhou

The last time I was here, everything was quite dirty and there was a lot of dirt. Hangzhou really changed quite a lot in 9 years. It became a small city. The cars here think they're number one on the road. Pedestrian takes the number two spot. People just weave in and out of on-coming, speeding traffic to get the other side. It's scary!

There are tons of bicycles here. For sure. And scooters. They have special bike lanes. They also take the number one spot on the road, and pedestrians are number two.

The flight with Dragonair was super smooth to Hangzhou. For a 2.5-hour flight, it was a surprise there was a meal served. To be honest, I don't mind airplane food. It's tastier than it used to be. The Hangzhou airport is super tiny. We went straight to the famous West Lake, or Xi Hu if you want to be Chinese-ish. We went to Hongni Garden restaurant for dinner. The food was a little disappointing. We were going to go to some show that we had to pay for, but the whole group didn't want to go, so we went to the hotel early. My mom, aunt and uncle relatives, and I (there's 10 of us - minus one, he stayed at the hotel to sleep) went to get massaged. We found a place for 35 Renminbi for a 60 minute foot massage. For RMB45, it included head and upper body for 90 minutes. The head massage was really good, but the neck and shoulders wasn't enough. The foot massage, though, was superb. It hurt sometimes, but it took away the kinks. The massage did wonders. Afterwards, we just came back to the hotel.

I'm supposed to be sleeping right now, but I'm trying to upload the photos from today. The internet is somehow messing it up. Wake up call is 6:30 am and it's 1:30 am right now. I definitely should get to sleep. I'll finish uploading some other time and post up the links. Hopefully, tomorrow's hotel will have internet too 'cause that would be loverly.
