Pink Day
Today is Pink Day. Yes, pink is a tough colour. And it supports anti-bullying. What more do you want from a colour?
"When Travis Price, a new UNB Saint John student, attended Central Kings Rural High School in Nova Scotia, he and a friend decided to lend their support to a fellow student who was being bullied for wearing a pink polo shirt. Together, they purchased pink shirts and distributed them to their classmates, and Pink Day was born. Since then, students in Nova Scotia recognize the second Thursday of the school year as “Stand Up Against Bullying Day.” This initiative has also spread to schools and colleges as far away as British Columbia."
Dr. Robert MacKinnon
Vice-President, UNBSJ
So, wear your pinks today in proud support. I will be.
