Greetings from San Diego!
The drive wasn't as long as the one from SF to LA, but it did poop me out. We drove through a bunch of beach towns, including Newport and Laguna. We did stop by Aliso Beach on the outskirts of Laguna to hang for about an hour before heading down to San Diego. We drove about 6 hours, with some detours and rest stops. We went to the Fashion Valley Mall to have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. We had the best waiter ever. We're pretty much a stone's throw away from the mall. It's super close.
I can never get used to the fact that you have to pay for gas here before you pump. It's a smart idea, but it's so weird.
Our hotel room is smaller than what we've gotten in the past 3 hotels. Then again, we're in close proximity to downtown and attractions. We barely have room to lie our suitcases down on the floor.
Angie took a bunch of photos from the car ride. Apparently, they're mostly of street signs. I think I'll be putting those up later or maybe tomorrow.
Best conversation ever as we entered Laguna.
Angie: What's "xing"?
me: Uhhh ... you mean that? *points to street*
Angie: Yeah, "xing"?
me: Pedestrian ... ex-ing? CROSS-ing?
Angie: ... Ooohhhh!
Tomorrow we have the Street Scene Festival to go to. I'm excited for Muse!
